It Was Completely, Totally Worth It
For the last two days, the member photographers of West St. Studios have been coming in to record short video interviews which we’ll be using to promote our shared Brooklyn photo studio. It’s meant more than you can imagine to hear the heartfelt testimonials of the people who really understand that their membership at the studio isn’t just about the physical four walls, but also about the family-like community and the opportunities to learn and grow.
When I took over as Studio Manager in April 2013, I had a very specific goal in mind: to curate a group of people who could work together, and relate to each other in an collaborative environment that was so necessary in such a cut-throat city like New York. I’ve made a lot of mistakes, burnt a lot of bridges and laid in bed many nights wondering how I was going to pull this off, and if it was worth it.
Last night, I learned that it was completely, totally worth it.
To the members and supporters of our Greenpoint, Brooklyn home, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
